It is with great sadness and regret that we have learned of the death of Professor Gerhard Jirka (University of Karlsruhe), an energetic and enthusiastic supporter of the National Telford Institute through his membership of the International Advisory Board. Our sympathies go to his family and to his many friends and colleagues across the world.
